Let’s just say it was a LONG day this past Saturday at Galleria Dallas for Beauty Live. A little background info on what Beauty Live is, it’s a weekend getaway for us beauty and makeup junkies such as myself. Industry professionals come out to share the latest trends, tips, and tricks involving everything beauty related. Skin care, makeup application and techniques, color trends ; everything that is relative to a makeup artist such as myself. Tickets were $20 to reserve a seat, it’s totes worth it. You get a $20 gift card & a swag bag. You’re pretty much getting your money back in the form of a gift card so it’s a win win situation. Plus I got to hang out with Jaleesa the whole day, with some girl talk going on at Mi Cocina. That mango margarita though, YES.
First beauty event I attended was the Expert Beauty Panel at 11am. Our fabulous panel shared their own personal makeup techniques, preferences, and the beauty products they can’t live without.
Main tip: LESS IS MORE when it comes to makeup during the summer months. This is relevant especially if your skin type is like mine and it resembles an oil mine. You don’t want to feel like your makeup is literally melting off of your face when Texas summers get ridiculously hot. My personal preference when I do wanna wear makeup during the summer months ; BB Cream (or tinted moisturizer), defined eyebrows, bronzer, wispy lashes, winged eyeliner, bold lip. But 95% of the time I will be au natural during the summer.
Second beauty event I watched over was the fabulous Courtney Kerr’s Favorite Things. She shared all her favorite beauty and skin care products. She gave away so many of her favorite products, kinda regret not buying a ticket for her session. Plus I noticed she loves the Bath and Body Works Stress Relief line. Let me tell yall the sugar scrub, scrub that all over your body in a hot bath or shower. Not only will your skin feel super soft, you will be soooo relaxed thanks to the eucalyptus and spearmint scent.
Can we just point out that Jennifer's hair is absolutely adorable. It's the perfect color combination.
I also watched over Macy’s Spring Must Haves, definitely paid attention to Michael Kors representatives presenting his beauty and fragrance line. By the way I do have his Amber fragrance & yes I do recommend it.
I bought a last minute ticket to Belk Presents Modern. Southern Beauty with InStyle Style Ambassador, Tai Beauchamp. Another awesome beauty panel featuring Tai Beauchamp (who I have a newfound love for), Ryan Thomas, Lindsey Loeffert, Lisa Boness, Robery Cook, Renee Rizzuto, and Kat Burki.
Last but not least, Sephora Presents Re(Marc)able Beauty! Sephora introduced fashion designer Marc Jacobs very sheek and stylish beauty line. Tiana Luckett and Dustin Svatek took us through a complete makeup demonstration using Marc Jacobs Beauty Line. I went to Sephora’s event last year when Dustin did a makeup demo using Pantone & Sephora’s cosmetic line inspired by last year’s Pantone Color of the Year, which was Emerald. I just love him, end of story. You will get some laughs out while watching his demo.
Here are my swag bags! I was very excited looking in my Belk bag and finding a Essie Mint Candy Apple nail polish in there.
I highly advise anybody who loves makeup and need a little help with getting steered in the right direction to look your absolute best, Beauty Live is the way to go. I’m disappointed I didn’t get to attend Sunday’s presentations due to a school related function I had to attend, but next year I hope that’s not an issue.
P.S. I would love to see Anastasia Beverly Hills do a presentation next year, just a thought. Yall know eyebrows are everything!
