Sephora Spring Social Event | March 2014

My M7M colleague and good friend of mine Faye invited me to a Sephora Spring Social that was exclusively for VIB Rouge members. She was allowed to bring a plus one and of course that plus one was ME (I’m only a VIB member so I get privileges but not as much as Faye does haha).

The event consisted of:

·         15% savings for you & a friend.

·         Makeup lessons at the Beauty Studio.

·         Experts and brand ambassadors giving personalized beauty advice.

·         Complimentary coffee & bites.

·         A complimentary cosmetic bag and free samples.

I did the Sephora Color IQ foundation match complexion to see which foundation brand would be best based on my skin complexion, undertones, and type of finish I preferred. According to my results, it led me to MUFE’s HD Foundation #179, which has warmer undertones. It really made my skin look nice! I don’t look for too much coverage in a foundation since the only skin issue I have is uneven skin tone on my cheeks. This foundation really did give me a nice soft finish. I highly doubt I will be buying foundation anytime soon because the weather is getting warmer and I’m not fond of wearing foundation, especially when my skin looks like I’ve hit an oil mine during the spring and summer month. Anybody that sees me, 95% of the time I am bare faced anyways, I do the occasional beat down when I’m in the mood to play around in makeup or I’m going out. I’ll stick with my BB cream for now. I did walk out with 2 eye shadow palettes and got a 15% discount off my purchase. Sephora employees definitely put the Urban Decay Electric Palette by the register on purpose and apparently their technique worked because I did end up buying it. Shoot, we merchandising majors know that Visual Merchandising is EVERYTHING! I wasn’t about to NOT buy this Limited Edition palette. Bright bold colors is definitely my forte and I will definitely play around in this palette when I have the chance to. I also redeemed some of my Beauty Insider points for an exfoliating cleanser, along with getting other free samples in my swag bag.

I also took random photos of Belk, a new store that is located where Saks Fifth Avenue used to be at. It’s very pretty, bright, and I just love the overall aesthetic of the store. I fangirled terribly when I saw the Kate Spade boutique! They also sell her chic tumblers and stationery, something I only saw on Lifeguard Press’s website. Plus they have a NYX Cosmetics as well! I was very happy about that. When I go to ULTA that’s where I gravitate towards, same thing happened as soon as I locked eyes on it. Belk will be a spot I must stop at on my occasional trips to the Galleria.
