Behind The Scenes | Survivor Glam Squad February Makeovers

This past Sunday I had the opportunity to collaborate with two beauty establishments, The Drybar and Blushington Makeup Lounge at the Shops of Highland Park, to host a makeover event for cancer survivors with Survivor Glam Squad.

For some background information about what Survivor Glam Squad is, it is a non-profit organization founded by Keely Webster in 2011, who is the current owner and founder of Bellamae Models. This organization collaborates with beauty professionals, photographers, local businesses, volunteers, etc., to “provide female cancer survivors with esteem building opportunities, such as professional makeovers, education and motivation.Through donations and volunteer efforts, Survivor Glam Squad will empower women and girls to get back on track after cancer treatment.” I had the honor of Keely reaching out to me about hosting makeover events in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and since there wasn’t an ambassador in my area, I decided to step up and take charge. Plus anybody that knows me know that coordinating events is MY THING, I absolutely LOVE it!

I had 6 lovely ladies who were nominated by their friends to come out for a day of pampering following a lovely photo shoot afterwards. Everyone did an AMAZING job and the ladies were even more satisfied that we all came together to put on this event for them. It was such a joy seeing these ladies relaxed and enjoying themselves.

I would personally like to thank everybody who participated in this event:
Shannon Williams (Drybar’s Owner & Host)
Meghan Murphy (Blushington’s Manager & Host)
Sarah Mitchell (Photographer – SarahMazing Photography)
Kaley Marioni (Photo Assistant)
Ryan Cash, Ashley Moreno, Rafael Oropeza, & Rebecca Soto (Drybar’s Stylists)
Vanessa Blanco, Amanda Carrette, & Desiree Chapman (Blushington’s Makeup Artists)
Shelly Cangemi, Jennifer Clouse, Farrow Herold, Marie Luttrell, Aubra Smithson, and Randi Wideman (Cancer Survivors)

I am definitely looking forward to hosting many more SGS events in the future!
Feel free to get in contact with me if you're interested in hosting an event at your salon, photography studio, or any other establishment!
